ALTOONA, Pa. — Brian Black’s newest book, “Ike’s Road Trip: How Eisenhower’s 1919 Convoy Paved the Way for the Roads We Travel,” has received a full review by Mark Yost for the Wall Street Journal.

“Ike’s Road Trip” tells the story of the exploratory, cross-country ride by the 28-year-old Army lieutenant colonel, Dwight Eisenhower. He and his colleagues led the coast-to-coast journey in some of the world’s first petroleum-powered vehicles and planted the dream of connecting America with roads.

Black is a distinguished professor of history and environmental studies at Penn State Altoona.
